We are always interested in ‘special days’ in Reception and today was one of those days. How much do you know about Shrove Tuesday? (more commonly know as Pancake Day)

Did you know, In Northern Island the eldest single daughter in each family flicks the first pancake. If she lands it she will be married within the year! If she misses, she will remain single for the next 365 days. In Wales, pancakes are much smaller than in England. In Scotland they are fatter and are cooked on large, hot oven stones. However you celebrate Pancake Day nothing quite beats eating them!
