Water Play

As early years practitioners we love water play on a warm summer’s afternoon. It is fascinating to watch the children interact with this unique resource. The scope for experiences and thus learning are endless. Today, as you can see from these photographs, the children explored capacity through making magic potions in different sized containers (this then led to writing opportunities) Some of the children then realised that if you soak a sponge ball in the water tray it creates a cool spray-effect when you roll it! It also leaves a distinctive trail that can be measured using a trundle wheel. Long may the good weather continue!
