As part of our Year 4 science, we have been learning about how we hear.  

Did you know that sound is created by vibrations and travels in waves?  We explored how we can hear different pitch of high and low frequencies and Miss McManus brought in her woodwind and brass instruments for us to explore!

Did you know loose lips on a brass instrument creates a low pitch whilst tighter lips created a higher pitch?  Following that we investigated how the volume of sound was determined by the energy within the sound waves, explored how sounds grew fainter the further away we were and experimented on what worked best for muffling sounds!  

It was great fun having a go at different instruments and investigate and conduct lots of experiments.
