Year 5 - What should we do in accidents and emergencies?

As part of our Year 5 PSHE lessons, the children have been learning what to do in a range of medical situations.  They have learnt what asthma is and how serious it can be, how to administer an epipen, what to do if someone is bleeding as well as how to make a 999 phone call appropriately.

They have also then learnt about the recovery position and why it is important to put someone in it.  They know the importance of staying calm in an emergency situation whilst also being proactive and safe.  

They were definitely feeling proud of the fact that they know one day they could be someone saving somebody’s life!
