Numicon is a vital part of our early years provision. The children love using it to support them with their development of number and calculations. It is also an effective resource when introduced into children’s play. Today we made Numicon pictures! We made trains, hotels, rockets and even a horse and hay bale! Once we had made a picture we used our counting skills to see how many Numicon circles our models were made up of. Many of us are now trying to count in 2’s as well as holding numbers in our head and counting-on.
