Every Friday, some of us undertake the Mega-Maths Challenge. This challenge is designed to stretch and challenge the children’s understanding of the skills we have been teaching them throughout the week. Every challenge also incorporates a concrete (hands-on) resource that supports the children’s calculations. Once the challenge is set the grown up steps back and allows the children to work as a team to solve the problem (only supporting if the need arises) It is amazing to watch them in action!
