A group of our Year 6 children have had an adventurous day using our school woods whilst the rest of the year group have been away on a residential. 

We have enjoyed making our own dough to cook damper bread over the fire. The jam and garlic butter were a delicious addition! 

We learnt how to safely light fires, with each of us successfully lighting and looking after our own fires. 

We have also learnt how to safely use secateurs which we used to cut willow to make charcoal pencils and to make a willow woven hut.
