It may not look like a lot to the untrained eye, but this photograph of a five year child who has created her own telescope highlights the power of independent play. She has selected resources, applied prior taught skills and thought about patterns to create this intricate junk-model. As EYFS practitioners, we are regularly blown away by the power of our children.
