All the evidence shows that children who are literate and are able to read and write have better life chances than children who do not have access to education. Phonics plays a massive part of the EYFS curriculum. We have a lesson everyday and our environment is sprinkled with words, sentences, clipboards, pens and paper! As com towards the end of our first block of taught sounds we are proud of how far we have come in challenging circumstances.
