This week’s text in Reception is the powerful story, My Shadow is Pink by Scott Stuart. A moving picture book about a boy who is different and how his father handles the changes in their respective lives. It is an uplifting story about daring to be different and having the courage to be your true self. The story also deals with the ideals of respect, tolerance and friendship. Today we looked at toys and challenged the stereotypes associated with them.
