The children came into school this week full of tales of Halloween experiences so we bought some pumpkins to continue this excitement. First the children drew on the pumpkins and then we chopped off the top to see what was inside. The children talked about what we could cook with pumpkins

'soup' 'I made pumpkin cake' 'pumpkin pie!'

as they scooped out the seeds, and what we could use the seeds for 

'to grow another pumpkin'.

We discussed how it felt

'cold' 'sticky' 'slimy' and 'yucky'.

Tomorrow we will use the scooped out pumpkins for another activity to develop fine motor control ...watch this space!
