Over the last two weeks we have been learning and immersing ourselves in the story of Goldilocks and the Three Bears, a classic traditional tale. Towards the end of this week we have begun to ‘innovate’ the story that we have learnt and changed some key parts to create our own story! We call this ‘magpieing’. Essentially, we use a learnt text as a blueprint and just change parts to personalise it! Further on in our writing journey at HPS; this technique will allow us to write all types of cool stories using a range of genres with minimal fuss! Our class innovated story this week was called, ‘Miss Lye and the Three Crocodiles’ Why don’t you see if your child can re-tell a small part of the story?!
