What does having a genetic disorder really mean?

Today, in Key Stage 1 assembly, Mr. Lopez used cubes to explain to the children what a genetic disorder really means. We looked at the stories of some children who are living with serious illness because their genetic make-up is faulty. Mr. Lopez also explained that the money we raise as a school goes to support the crucial work of medical science and the amazing doctors who spend their lives looking for cures. Some children even said that is something they would like to do when they get older. Think big. Good, better, best!
