Year 2 - Birch Class’ trip to Brixham!

Wow! What a day!

A big thank you to all the parents who have supported their children in being able to go on their FIRST EVER school trip!! And didn’t we go with a bang!

From the moment the children first saw the coach, the excitement was clear for everyone to see (and hear!) 😂. For many of our children, it was the first time ever going on a coach, let alone a school trip.

Off we headed to Brixham, in South Devon, to climb aboard a pirate ship and learn about Sir Francis Drake’s adventures! We walked the blank, found out our pirate names and learned about life at sea for sailors in the late 1500’s.

After locking Miss McManus and Miss Plint in the stocks, we were back on the coach to Continue our adventures to Berry Head.  We trudged along the footpath, explored the napoleonic fort before finding the highest (but shortest) lighthouse in the country.  We then looked at all the different geographical features that this wonderful place has to offer before going into the bird hide to quietly try and spot guillemots and seals....we found loads!

It was then time to return home and a few yawns and snores later, we were back at school!

Here are a few photos for you to go through, but there will be more tomorrow!
