Year 2 have been busy exploring the properties of both 2d and 3d shapes.  They know that 2d stands for ‘2 dimensional’ and that these shapes are flat, have sides and vertices.  They also know that 3d means ‘3 dimensional’ and that these shapes have length, width and depth.

The children identified 3d shapes as well as identifying their properties and sorting them according to them too.  Great fun was had and the children were really excited to share their knowledge and explanations using mathematical language.
