Today, the children were introduced to the religion of Islam. They learnt that people that follow the faith are called Muslim and that their God is called Allah. We learnt about how they pray 5 times a day and then looked at artefacts from different religions. 

The children had had to decide if the artefact was ‘muslim’ or ‘Not muslim’ and then explain what religion they thought it was from and why. 

We we were really impressed on their knowledge of Christian and Jewish artefacts, knowing they weren’t Muslim and why they weren’t. 

We then explored some muslim artefacts. One young boy even showed us how to use a prayer mat!
