We spent our literacy lesson exploring paragraphing today and understanding why it is important to use them.  We make predictions of what we thought the reasons for it were which turned out to be correct! They are used to join sentences about the same theme together to help our writing be more coherent and ‘less jumbled’ for the reader.

After we worked that out, we were given some paragraphs to explore to look at the different sentence types and skills being used.  We spotted, adverbial phrases, expanded noun phrases, subordinating conjunctions and complex sentences! Our teachers were so impressed.

We didn’t stop there though, we thought about how we could guide the reader and we came up with using subheadings to help them. Here are some examples of what we got up to today!
