Year 4 have worked collaboratively this afternoon to group animals in our local area based on  on their characteristics. This lesson built on yesterday’s knowledge of animal types. Ask your child to list the features of a mammal, a reptile, an amphibian... can they tell you the definition of a vertebrate? 

In Maths, we have been using manipulatives to show equivalence of a half and a quarter. We noticed a pattern that when finding equivalent fractions for a half, the numerator is half of the denominator. Finding a quarter we found it helpful to half the number and half it again.
