Year 5 - What would we do with our money?
Last week, Year 5 explored the importance of being able to distinguish between ‘wants’ and ‘needs’ and discussed the importance of being sensible with money. They learnt about what a credit card was and how people are charged interest on the money borrowed and why it is important to make good choices with what they do with any money they received.
One activity that they looked at involved discussing as a group what they would do with a variety of amounts of money. They had to consider whether they would put it into a savings account, invest the money, put it in their wallet for spending or put it into their money box. There were some great collaborative conversations and sorting out of funds and surprisingly across the class, they were unanimous in their decisions.
