⛺️ Year 6 Activity Group #1 🌙✨

When many of us were at home snuggling down for the evening, a small group of excited year 6 children returned to school on Friday night for an evening of activities before their sleepover! First up was ‘legs 11’ where the children had to outwit one another in what seemed like a straight forward counting game ... not many winning combinations were predicted, but it was great fun nevertheless! 😀 Archery followed and it soon became clear that Robin Hood would be adding some of us to his band of merry men while others of us would probably be choosing a different profession - but everyone did so well with so many giggles! 🏹 😂 By then, the fire was lit in the woods and we ventured down for pancakes 🥞 and hot chocolate - thank you Mr Hasler & Mrs Nicholas - it was all yummy, 😋! As the moon began to light up the night sky, we returned to the hall for our next activity ... zorbing! Once we’d learnt how to enter, roll, stand & exit the zorbing ball safely, the sumo competition began - and wow, what fun it was! As the children were charged and bumped over, they soon learnt that it was almost impossible to expect to stay on their feet! And if that wasn’t hard enough, how about trying to play football whilst inside the inflatable orb too!!!! The laughter and entertainment was non-stop ... as were the cups of water needed afterwards to re-hydrate ourselves - what sweaty messes some of us were! 😆 And just before all energy waned, there was enough time to squeeze in some highly-competitive games of volleyball too ... with two closely contested wins for Mr Watson’s team - a huge ‘well done’ to you all! 👏🏻 By 10pm, the log burner was warming up the yurt and so a story and biscuits was the perfect way to end the evening 📖 🔥 Walking back to the school building under the stars ✨ gave us all the chance to appreciate the silence, calm and tranquil site of HPS at night ... and as Niranjan said, “we have a beautiful school!” - and who are we to say otherwise! 😇

After a few hours of sleep, it was an early start to get tidied up, eat a healthy breakfast and chat together before families arrived to pick everyone up ... home for some more sleep no doubt!!! 😉

What a great way to begin our activity days and we can’t wait for more fun and adventures next week! 🤗
