This afternoon, Year 6 spent some time learning about the stethoscope. We found out about its origins and looked at how it has developed over time. Initially, the stethoscope was created as a way for doctors to keep away from patients' bodies as these were smelly, dirty and lice-ridden! How disgusting! 

We then went on to make our own stethoscopes and listened to each other's heartbeats. Amazingly, we could actually hear them!
