Year 6 Spitfire Gliders

Tuesday 29th November

Spitfire Gliders: during our SOLE lesson this afternoon, the children of year 6 investigated the spitfires used in WW2. We created our own paper versions, then tested their flying capabilities in the playground, measuring the distances travelled, then using our data to find the mean distance of our flights.

It turned out that a few of our gliders were more suited for long journeys than others: some not travelling far at all, whilst others were found to actually be turning around in the air and landing behind the position we had thrown them from!
