  • Nursery - Christmas jumpers

    Sun 15 Dec 2019

We loved our Christmas jumpers in nursery on Friday! It was great to see all the sparkle and glitter and we had fun comparing Christmas characters. Thank you also to the parents for the kind donations to charity and Honiton food bank.

Next week brings another action packed week for the children including two PE sessions (normal clothes please) forest school and the Christmas child /parent event on Wednesday (please see posters on the nursery door for more information).

Don't forget that HPS including nursery will be closing at 1.15pm on Friday 20th December for the Christmas holidays 🎄🎅🏼.

  • Peer reading support

Sat 14 Dec 2019 The Year 1 Team
Many people think that grown-ups are the only people who can support our youngest learners at HPS. Not true! We are very proud of the older children who pop down to hear readers and offer support with SOLE skills. Peer-2-Peer support is powerful and heart-warming to observe. It also gives our children an aspiration for when then move into KS2. Win, Win!

Sat 14 Dec 2019 The Year 1 Team
Today we painted our decorations! Your child’s decoration will be available to purchase at the KS1 Christmas Shows taking place next week. Mr. Lopez’s mum still has his first decoration that he made over thirty years ago! She still hangs it up every year on her tree! #makingmemories

Wow! What a busy day we had in nursery today! We met Father Christmas for a story and chocolate treat, enjoyed a yummy Christmas dinner and then had a local police officer come and visit us and tell us all about his job! We even got chance to look inside the police car and listen to the sirens as well as try on a police uniform! Another fantastic day in nursery!

Wow! What a busy day we have had in Reception! We thoroughly enjoyed getting nice and mucky down the woods this morning, measuring and finding things that are tall and short.

We then enjoyed our Christmas dinner where we got to wear our Christmas hats and pull crackers! In the afternoon, we were visited by PC Knowles which was very exciting! We were able to try on his uniform and hats, as well as see his police car and hear the sirens! To finish off the day, we were visited by Father Christmas!
