  • Year 4 Intra Class Athletics Competition

    It was year 4's turn to compete against each other today. The classes have been practicing their sprinting, jumping and throwing all term and today it all came together in a very close competition. All the events allowed the children to showcase their abilities all with a smile and a cheer. It was Miss Buckingham's class that came out on top with a 44 point win 577 against 533. A huge well done to both classes! 

  • Nursery - investigation in the woods!

    Today in Nursery the children went on an investigation in our woods. They investigated how many bugs, flowers and wildlife they could find using our investigation challenge cards. The children were fantastic at spotting and identifying flowers, pine cones and the variety of plants we have in the woods. Next time you are out for a walk in the woods see if they can identify some of the flowers you spot, you maybe pleasantly surprised! 

  • Planting trees!

    The Woodland Trust very kindly donated some trees for us to plant at school! We had some fantastic helpers this afternoon, planting different saplings around the edge of our woods.

    We have been working hard practising this! We have been using our knowledge of place value to help us solve the clues. We have talked about the importance of taking notes at each step and working through the clues as a process. We wrote some clues for our peers today for them to solve!

    This is a lovely story (based on real-life events) about the penguins in Central Park Zoo. It shows us that a family can be many things and all you need to make one is love. 

  • Nursery lean maths skills through play!

    We can be mathematical in all areas of Nursery. Today, whilst also developing physical skills, we recorded scores when we shot a ball through the hoop, learnt about triangles by throwing beanbags, and explored tall, short and long using the intereactive whiteboard.

    Year 4 have explored a dual voice text and have created their own versions for either New York or Washington, USA. We are really proud of the end results :)
