  • Year 4 - The Mystery of the Missing Glue Sticks!

Fri 22 May 2020 Miss McManus

As every teacher around the world knows, glue sticks are the most prized possession in any classroom!  The thought of not having any or worse, they go missing, fills every teacher with dread.

Thankfully, this young lady has problem solved, investigated and identified the culprit of who took the missing glue sticks!  She has used an abundance of skills and loved every second of the challenge.  You can see how proud she is here in the photos.

Well done! All the teachers at HPS know who to come to when we need our missing glue stick problem to be solved!

  • Busy Bee yet Again!

Fri 22 May 2020 Miss McManus

Once again this young lady has been working hard on a whole range of activities.  She has even made sure she got out in the sunshine to keep fit and healthy whilst also searching out different animals poo to see if she could track them.  It looks like she managed to find some ducks!

All of this was topped off with a nice healthy lunch, violin practise (whilst reading obviously!), maths activities, creating scientific classification keys, grammar activities and more!

  • Taking Reading to the EXTREME in Year 4!

Fri 22 May 2020 Miss McManus
These guys have been working hard on their reading and thought of interesting places and ways to read - what do you think?  Can you be any more extreme with your reading?
  • Year 4 - Whose poo is it anyway?

Fri 22 May 2020 Miss McManus

As part of our learning journey, this week Year 4 looked at the different digestive systems of various animals and compared it to that of a human.

They learnt how each animals food goes through the body and what the waste product looked like.  They also learnt how poo is in fact full of information and helps ecologists track animals' populations and habitats too!

Here a young man has worked hard at identifying the different animals and poos and matching them correctly.  He has also gone on to create a scientific classification key to help him sort and identify the animal.

    Excellent scientific work there!

  • Year 4 - Stories, diagrams, experiments and More!

Fri 22 May 2020 Miss McManus

This young lady has been working exceptionally hard on activities linked to our topic of Burps, Bottoms and Bile!

She has conducted experiments, created a detailed diagram with flaps of the digestive system, answered reading comprehension questions, designed a healthy food plate and also written a story as if she travelled through a humans digestive system!

I love the creativity shown here.
