This week's winners are...

Year 3 Pine Class! 

Well done to all, a great week of doodling. 

The long awaited interclass competition took place on Friday after a year of cancellations. The children were amazing and soon familiarised themselves with the game of netball and all the skills came flooding back from earlier in the year. A great afternoon of the children showcasing their skills showing teamwork and determination to succeed whilst having lots of fun and not forgetting there sportsmanship! Well done year 5!

It's been a very busy day for Year 2 today, with lots of different learning experiences for our children.  One life skill we worked on was cooking!  Linked to our geography aspects of 'Scented Garden', we decided to have a go at making a Sri Lankan style curry. 

There was peeling, measuring, cutting, mixing, discussing reversible and irreversible changes, learning about different styles of cooking whilst also having to look at, read and understand a recipe...

It was great fun and even though we started cooking our curry this morning, we all got to taste it this afternoon!

It was very yummy and the flavours were really different compared to typical British food.  Some of us even wanted to have a go at practising these life skills at home and asked their parents to help cook dinner!

This afternoon Year 2 had the pleasure of having Tim from the RNLI visit year 2 to share how to keep safe at the beach. It was so interactive and the children knew so much and learnt loads. It was absolutely brilliant and everybody now knows how to stay safe this summer when visiting the beach. 

Wow! What a great start to this evening!

Lots of games and writing all over Miss McManus’ whiteboard before heading outside to play on the Year 6 climbing frames.  Suddenly, like a knight in shining armour the pizza and chips arrived and cheers could be heard throughout! Dinner was eaten and it was more time playing together before the toasting of marshmallows!

After, we went on a mission around the school visiting all the different classes and leaving cheeky messages for teachers. We may have snuck into the head teacher’s office!!!!

We finally went to bed at 10.30pm although some were still chitter chattering gone midnight!

The Nursery children showed so much stamina and determination today during sports day. They all put so much effort into the activities and it was great to see so many parents there cheering them on. Thank you to Mr Watson and Mrs Ayres for arranging such a fun sporty morning. 

Well done Nursery! 

This morning, Mr Watson explained the basics of first aid to Year 5. We talked about lots of different aspects including cuts, head injuries, asthma, CPR and DR ABC - ask us to tell you what this means! Thank you to Mr Watson for sharing all of your expertise with us!

Whilst it has been super hot outside the children have been busy engaging in activities inside our cool Nursery classroom.

Today we headed to the woods! The weather was shining and we had so much fun exploring what the woods had to offer!
