  • Mr Tribble - Year 1 Bubble Closure

Fri 27 Nov 2020 Mr Tribble

    Dear All,

Sadly, in due diligence, we must close the Year 1 bubble as a positive case has been confirmed.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news on this Friday evening but we do wish the family all our warmest HPS wishes and I am sure that you will join us in this.

I have produced a video to explain the situation and why your letter is slightly different to those received by other year groups so do watch closely.

I will also be posting a video for the children if you would like to have me explain the situation to them. Obviously, please feel free to ignore or use as you see best.

Take care folks, this really is taking a strong grip locally and we must all remain vigilant.

    Best wishes,

    Mr Tribble

  • Storytelling

Fri 27 Nov 2020 The Reception Team
Over the last two weeks we have been learning and immersing ourselves in the story of Goldilocks and the Three Bears, a classic traditional tale. Towards the end of this week we have begun to ‘innovate’ the story that we have learnt and changed some key parts to create our own story! We call this ‘magpieing’. Essentially, we use a learnt text as a blueprint and just change parts to personalise it! Further on in our writing journey at HPS; this technique will allow us to write all types of cool stories using a range of genres with minimal fuss! Our class innovated story this week was called, ‘Miss Lye and the Three Crocodiles’ Why don’t you see if your child can re-tell a small part of the story?!
  • Reception and Nursery Learners of the Week and reading winners!

Fri 27 Nov 2020 Reception and Nursery
Well done to our winners this week for working hard with both reading at home and working hard in their learning at school! To be entered into our reading draw in Reception, we ask the children to read 3 times to their group up and have their grownup read to them twice a week (any story) to help extend their vocabulary and to promote a love of reading. We have been amazed at how far the children have come with their reading so thank you for all the support that you have been giving at home!
  • Year 6 home learning

    Fri 27 Nov 2020
Thanks for all the fantastic home learning that’s been flooding in! We try our best to give all children a chance to share and talk about it before we celebrate and display it. Keep it coming.
  • Year 3 - Super Isolation Learning!

Fri 27 Nov 2020 The Year 3 Team

Wow!  Today we received some fabulous photos from some pupils working hard from home.  There is a full range of learning and it is great to such dedication, focus and enjoyment.

This young man's handwriting has improved tremendously and he has completed all the learning set whilst also being kind and helpful at home by making his sister's breakfast and his own lunch each day.  Well done, keep up the amazing work!!!

And next we have a young lady who I wish lived with me at the moment!  She got up early and got busy preparing and making her family their dinner following the Stone Age stewing recipe (although modernised by the slow cooker!)  That looks yummy, I bet they can't wait to have their for their dinner tonight!!

All of us here in the Year 3 team are missing you tremendously, but are incredibly proud of each and everyone of you.  For those parents that like to be super organised - next week's timetable is up as well as all the learning resources and videos for Monday.

Have the most amazing weekend everybody.

  • Year 4 - Home learning presentation, I am Warrior

    Fri 27 Nov 2020
We enjoyed seeing a home learning presentation today all about the Roman's. We think it's great to see links between our computing learning and history too!
  • Year 1 - Christian's Creation Story

    Thu 26 Nov 2020 Year 1
In RE today, Year 1 answered the question 'who do Christians say made the world?'. They had a go at drawing their own comic strips to represent what happened on each of the 7 days. Check out some of their brilliant drawings!
  • More wonderful home learning from Year 2!

    Thu 26 Nov 2020
Thank you for sending in all of the amazing home learning that's been going on at home, Year 2! We really love to see it! Keep up the hard work - Friday's bits are up and ready for you to view now :)
