And just like that, we're into the summer term! 

Our class competition has been reset and it's time to announce the first weekly winners...

As part of our PE this term, Year 2 are looking at the fundamental skills of movement for sport.  Today our focus was team work and as the title says, it really was a dream!

The children worked together in teams to accomplish the same goal.  They listened to one another, cheered each other on and though tactically to win...it was a great lesson in the sunshine!

It was lovely to see our children welcome new friends in Nursery this week. We have been so busy creating, imagining, building and making new friends. 

This week, we have been using the properties of pencil and charcoal to create a range of effects from shading and cross hatching to blending and applying different amounts of pressure. Our focus has been on seashells for our wider curriculum project, Blue Abyss. Take a look at our progress so far. Next week, we shall be developing our drawing skills further, using pen and ink. 

Over the coming weeks we shall be observing the incubator and exploring scientific ideas and language to observe what happens to the eggs. Fingers crossed some of them hatch! Mr. Lopez wants to call one, ‘Frank’ but the children do not agree! 

What a fantastic morning of running, throwing and jumping from our brilliant team of year 4 athletes today! They had enthusiasm, determination & resilience in abundance and their behaviour was impeccable. The support they had for one another and the encouragement they gave to the other school’s athletes was heart-warming and made us all very proud 😊👏🏻🌟😇

This week we have been learning about Judaism. We have been looking at things that are special to Jewish people and how they worship and celebrate their God. 

We learnt about the Shabbat, a holy day of rest. We had our own “mini Shabbat” where we made Challah bread and lit candles. We all got to try the bread at the end too!

This morning Year 2 became feature detectives and searched through a non-chronological report.  They found headings, subheadings, paragraphs, captions and introductions to name a few things!  They then compared other different non-chronological reports to see if they all had e same features.  They noticed that not all had fact boxes and pictures!
