  • The power of ‘Play’

Sat 30 Mar 2019 The Reception Team

Parnts often ask us, ‘how can I enrich the experiences I have with my my child when I play with them at home?’ This picture is a great example of how it can be done. Whenever we place ourselves into a child’s play we ask ourselves three questions: Is there an opportunity here to make conversation?, is there an opportunity here to be mathematical and is there an opportunity here to mark-make (draw or write words, sentences and numbers) How would you apply these ideals to this situation? Post your ideas in the comments section. We’d love to hear your thoughts.

  • Year 1 and 2 think of others

    Fri 29 Mar 2019
Wearing a hat is not only fashionable, stylish and fun; but it also draws attention to the head and brain tumours, a devastating and at times ‘invisible disease’. And what a range of hats adorned the heads of Year 1 and 2 today as we took part in ‘Wear A Hat Day’, raising money for Brain Tumour Research. It was good to see so many of you taking part. Well done and thank you for your donations 🤠 🎩 🧢 👒👑🎓

  • Year 3 - Search Engine Safety

    Fri 29 Mar 2019

This afternoon, the children have been learning how to use the internet safely and efficiently to research ‘heroes’ from history.  They’ve learnt about how some websites pay to have their pages at the top and that they aren’t always reliable.

A new new site that they did learn about, which is great for researching on, is KidRex!  This is a child friendly search engine that they can use.

    Check it out!
