  • Year 3- Recycling Needed!

    Sun 31 Oct 2021

    Hi Year 3,

We hope you have all had a lovely half term.

Year 3 will soon be designing and building the human skeleton using junk modelling. To do this, we need to collect materials and resources. If you have any recycling materials (cardboard, bottles, tubes, tubs, foil, containers, boxes etc) that we could use, it would be much appreciated.

If you have anything- please could you/your child bring it by Tuesday 2nd November please.

    Thanks,

    Year 3 🙂

Great work everyone and remember to keep doodling over the holiday!

Head over to our class pages to see our list. All children have brought them home today in an envelope too! We look forward to filling our boards full of creative, historical learning.

We have spent this week exploring the stories of inspirational figures who have helped changed the way we treat each other. ‘Respect for all’ has been the buzz phrase in Reception this week.

  • Year 2 - We went Shopping!

Wed 20 Oct 2021 The Year 2 Team

As part of our maths learning and also linked to our English, Year 2 went shopping in Sally’s School Shop!

We we went in with our money and worked out what coins we needed to buy things and explored the different amounts.  Some of us added the prices of items and some of us worked out the change. It also gave some of us the chance to really embed our understanding of tens and ones in two digit numbers through using 10p’s and 1p’s. We had such a great time that we had to re-visit it in the afternoon too!

The children really loved this role play activity and we could see so many maths skills within the lesson. Opportunities like this are second to none!  Maybe you could set up a shop at home too using change? Otherwise, there may be a request for a shopping trip coming your way soon! 😆
