This term, year 4 have started to learn about volleyball. This week, the children have learnt how to dig and set to a partner. We challenged the children to see how many sets they could complete. One group managed to pass the ball 15 consecutive times!

Year 6 Youth Speaks success

Three of our Year 6 students have been working hard for a number of weeks in preparation for a public speaking competition against schools from the local learning community. 

The quality of the language and research - as well as the delivery of the speech was nothing short of admirable. The topic of the speech was the ‘Unjust Distribution of Wealth in the World’. A challenging subject and very much a pressing issue of our times. Yet, this is also a sign of how our pupils challenge themselves to become World Ready Citizens. 

The team performed wonderfully on the day and as such were a close runner up to the top spot when the judges made their final decision .

The Nursery children have had a fun filled morning yesterday in the school hall with Mr Watson practicing moving their bodies into different shapes. They listened to Mr Watson’s instructions carefully, and learnt how to manipulate their bodies to make new shapes such as a stretch and tuck. Mr Watson was very impressed at how well the Nursery children listened and enjoyed the session. Well done Little Hippos!

As the new term begins, this is just a reminder that our class Doodle competitions will also be commencing! From next week, we will be announcing our weekly winners for both DoodleMaths and DoodleSpell for KS1 and KS2. Who will come out on top this time..?!
