What a great afternoon!  Thank you to all the grown ups that came this afternoon to take part in our Roman battle and SOLE book sharing event, everybody had a great time!

 

The children got to show off the shields they have worked hard at making this week as well as the formations and Tesdudo!  The paper balls were flying (I’m sure I saw a few aimed at Mr Tribble) and the children stood firm with their shields in rank. 

 

It it all ended with a great time of sharing the learning that the children had completed in the last topic. 

 

Once again, a big thank you for coming along and supporting such events. 

Today we were visited by two lovely ladies, Sally and Ann-Marie from ICE Primary (an organisation who share the Bible with children) Through story, music and props we learnt about how God created the world in six days and then had a rest on the seventh! We also learnt that the earth is a gift that we have to look after.

In recent weeks we have been exploring prehistoric and urban landscapes looking at the similarities and differences. We are really proud of our landscape pictures that explore these differences between then (65 million years ago!) and now (2020) 

We have had an incredibly busy day learning about Roman Armies and how they fought and protected themselves.  We then went on to research and design our own Roman shield before getting the chance to re-create this on a big piece of card with paint!  

 

We focused, learnt a lot and had fun doing so!

 

We can’t wait to show you our skills tomorrow at 2.30pm! Can’t wait to see you there parents and grown ups!

What a beautiful day in the sunshine the children had today playing outside, digging in the sand, walking on stilts and chalking on the playground floor.

Also a big thank you to all the parents who came to family story and rhyme time today, it was great sharing all our favourite books with you!

Same time next week 2.30pm Tuesday and Thursday afternoons!

Our new pets have arrived, we have been so excited to see them.  Mrs G showed the children how to look after our new fish - we have 10! There are only two rules - we must not knock on the glass or touch the feed tray. Lovely. 

Yesterday, Reception were learning about why some people celebrate pancake day. We learnt that the Christians call it Shrove Tuesday and that they use up ingredients like flour, eggs and milk to give up for Lent. 

We really enjoyed making the mixture and tasting the pancakes, adding on our own toppings! 

Today, we have began to write our own instructions for how to make pancakes.
