    If you ever need an army of enthusiastic, committed and collaborative children, then look no further than this group of amazing individuals! They have proven themselves to be capable in many fields: digging, brick making, den designing, street surfing, accurate aiming with a bow and arrow not to mention peeling, chopping and pancake making. Thank you to the team of adults that made sure every child had a brilliant few days. 😊

    Year 6 thoroughly enjoyed their final day at Skern Lodge. Teamwork and collaboration were essential qualities to reach the dizzy heights of success on the zip line, climbing wall and abseiling tower. Check out these amazing pictures to see how we got on..!

    Wow - what a day of challenges Year 6 faced on day two of their residential at Skern Lodge! Kayaking, zipline, climbing, abseiling and an assault course left every child feeling immensely proud of themselves! An incredible day! 😃

  • Year 5 Science

    Furthering our work on forces, Year 5 learnt about water resistance today. We tested the effects of it by mouldings different shapes out of plasticine and then timing how long it took them to sink in the water. We found that the thinner, narrower shapes fell quicker as they’d had less water resistance and the wider shapes fell slower because they had more water resistance.

    In Science, we have been learning about states of matter. Today we used our knowledge to create actions to help us remember the properties of a solid, liquid and a gas. 

  • Year 6 Skern Lodge Day 1

    After a wet and windy session on the beach, catching the surf and showing ourselves to be brilliant at bodyboarding, the evening activities saw us complete a mystery treasure trail through the dark lanes of the North Devon coast and create our own fires before toasting marshmallows and singing camp songs! A good night’s sleep was had by all and we’re ready to go again today! 😃

  • Nursery - Our first woods visit

    Nursery had our first trip to the woods this term and for some of our children it was their first ever trip to the school woods. The children enjoyed climbing the banks, swinging on the tyres and digging in the mud. Everyone then warmed up with hot chocolate and biscuits sat around the camp area. The children also collected some cooking apples and made apple cookies with them for afternoon snack!
