  • Year 6 DT - WWII Make Do and Mend!

    Over the last two days, Year 6 have been sewing evacuee toys as part of their WWII DT project. While working on these, we have really embodied our Growth Guide acorns of perseverance, collaboration and reflect and improve in order to produce these amazing outcomes. Take a look here!

    Yesterday, Year 3 came in wearing their festive Christmas jumpers ready for their delicious Christmas dinner. We also made our own Chrimornstmas party hats to wear to the dinner too!

    Have a look at some photos of what we have been doing in gymnastics this half term! We developed our balances, shapes, jumps and rolls and then put these skills together using all of our equipment.

    As part of our DT, Year 1 learnt about where food comes from and healthy eating. We then selected from a range of vegetables that we liked or wanted to try and cut them using the bridge technique. After that, we went down to the woods where Miss Wilton cooked them in the giant pan and we all tried some of the vegetables!

  • Elm Class Reindeer Run

    On Friday, Elm Class completed the Reindeer Run to support Hospice Care. The class made some Antlers to sport on their run. The whole class tried their best and completed lots of laps! Well done Elm Class!

    Congratulations to Elm Class for winning the Doodle Spell trophy! This has been down to the hard work of the class in completing their Doodle learning and let's hope this continues across the whole year.

  • Year 5 - Geography: Geographical Regions

    As part of our geography learning, Year 5 have been learning about the difference between countries, geographical regions and counties.  This has been quite interesting and the children were surprised that countries and counties are separated by who is in power and different governments!

     

    Alongside identifying the different geographical regions, they also identified a range of human and physical characteristics from across the UK, detailing their county and geographical region at the same time!

     

  • Year 5 - Art, Sketching Skills

    Willow class have been busy following a video tutorial on different sketching techniques.  They showed great perseverance and were able to work on their hatching and cross-hatching skills.  For some of them, this was the first time using art pencils and learning how there are softer and harder leads! 

     

    They will be re-visiting this and working on their stippling and other shading techniques in preparation for their tudor portraits.
