  • Year 3 - Warlocks Celebrate!

Fri 30 Apr 2021 Miss McManus

It was lovely to celebrate the successes this week with one another.  2 young runners received their Bronze award for running 25 miles on our Golden Mile Challenge - How impressive??

We had golden ticket winners for showing great perseverance and focus, empathy for their peers and for making links and noticing that the 24 hour clock has the pattern of: 12 hour plus 12 (1pm = 1+12 = 13:00)

Our superstar learner was awarded to a young man whose concentration has improved this week and his contributions to our class debate were amazing - definitely a politician in the making there!!

  • Time to Breath

Thu 29 Apr 2021 The Reception Team

As part of our wider curriculum, the whole school has ‘Time to Breath’ sessions during the school week. In Reception, we come together three times a week to reflect on different themes such as culture, the environment and different religions (to name but a few) This week we have been learning about the sun god, Ra and his significance to ancient Egyptian culture.

  • Scientists in Year 2!

    Thu 29 Apr 2021

We started our science lessons this week by investigating why boats float. We tried different containers to see if the shape matters and then we added gems to the containers to investigate which ones would sink. We found the rounder, wider containers were the best at floating. Two of our containers were filled with 109 gems and they didn’t sink! We learnt that displacement, when the boat pushes the water away, and being hollow helps boats to float even when they are heavy! Have a look at our photos of us investigating!

  • Wednesday fun in Nursery...

    Thu 29 Apr 2021

We have planted sunflowers today and are waiting for them to grow...it may take some time 😀. Also look at how the children learn from the humble box...it can be a bus, drawing surface, cutting practice and art easel! All ideas from the children 😊 Finally I couldn't resist putting the lovely photo of three little girls who are developing firm friendships, look at those smiles ❤️

  • Year 5 & 6 PE

    Wed 28 Apr 2021

Year 5 & 6 continued their athletics lessons today with the focus being on jumping events. The children practiced and had some friendly competition between themselves in the High Jump, Standing Long Jump and Speed Bounce. It was lovely to see to support for each other and sportsmanship for all to succeed. The children were challenged to better their scores, totals and heights by looking at their techniques for each individual jump. We certainly have some promising athletes amongst us! Well done!
