  • Drawing Club

Wed 29 Sep 2021 The Reception Team

In Reception we use Drawing Club as the vehicle to develop the children’s writing skills over the year. At the start of the year, as the name suggests, we begin to develop our children’s fine motor skills by drawing pictures from the text we are exploring that week. This week we drew bears from the story of Goldilocks.

    Well done year 3 😄

  • Nursery flowers and pirates...

    Wed 29 Sep 2021

Look at how creative the Nursery children can be! I put flowers and herbs from my garden into the tuff tray and added scissors - great cutting practice and a calming lavender smell in Nursery!  The children then added the stalks to the playdough to make wonderful sculptures!

As well as adults setting up ideas we love to follow children's ideas. Today one child wanted to be a pirate so we made a ship and pirate hat, the other children soon followed and we had little pirates everywhere! Whilst making their hats the children were learning about joining by using glue and tape.

Tomorrow, we will reflect on their effectiveness and then make alterations to our vessels before the final run next week!

  • Science! Identifying and labelling parts of a plant and tree.

    Tue 28 Sep 2021 Year 1

Year 1 have been continuing to build on their understanding of trees and plants. Today, we have been labelling the parts of a plant and a tree. We saw how we could use the fruit from our apple trees, picking them and then having a go at using the peeler and press!

It was quite tricky but we shall persevere by trying out eating apples instead of cooking ones to get more juice!

  • Year 2 - Missing Numbers!

Tue 28 Sep 2021 The Year 2 Team

What a great maths lesson today!

We we were able to identify and insert the missing numbers on the number lines independently. Some of the questions were tricky, but we could all do it!  We were resourceful using our number squares or number lines if we got stuck and we showed great resilience leading to everyone being successful!

We now need to practise counting in 3’s so use those stairs and trampolines to help you!!
