It was very exciting waiting for the popcorn machine to make popcorn! We listened for the pop, smelt the popcorn and then tasted the popcorn - it tasted 'yummy', 'like strawberries' and 'crunchy'. 

For PE today we went on different apparatus to practise our balancing and jumps. We talked about the importance of our core muscles and after jumping, holding the landing position.

As part of our scheme of work for RE, we have been focused on Christianity and what the Holy Trinity is and how it can be represented.

 

Today, we looked at two paintings depicting ‘the baptism of Jesus’ and compared them with one another. We worked together to discuss what we saw in the paintings and whether or not we liked them. 

Congratulations to our Year 5 and 6 athletes who competed in the local inter-school Sportshall Athletics Competition this afternoon. There were some incredible jumps, throws and runs on display - and the final result was truly deserved. A big ‘thank you’ to the HCC Sports Leaders who worked tirelessly organising, measuring and supporting us all. A great effort everyone 👏🏻👍🏻 See you at the East Devon Schools Finals! 😊

In Nursery we have a class SOLE book. The children enjoy choosing which photos to include, and help to stick them in. This gives us a lovely opportunity to reflect on our learning in Nursery (the children love to find themselves in the book too!) 

In nursery we love making marks. We have made patterns like Rosie the hen's feathers, used  chalks on the playground and enjoyed mark making in our 'pen den'.

Parents of nursery children, if your child attends nursery on a Thursday and normally stays for lunch please email the office to confirm if you would like your child to have a Christmas dinner on Thursday 12th December.

Today the nursery children loved jumping from the wooden planks. They used their balancing skills to steadily walk across the planks then jumped as high as they could, landing safely on both feet. Such fun!
