  • Learning through Play - The EYFS way!

    So much going on today...The Naughty Numberline!, The Bridge of Doom, The Castle, Playdough modelling, split-pin dinosaurs, family stick puppets, peg board dinosaurs...everyday our children amaze us in the creative ways that they apply the skills that we teach them in their play. 

  • Year 3 PE

    Year 3 continued to work and practice on their cricket skills today. After looking at fielding techniques they moved on to bowling and batting today. They understood the importance of bowling to a target/stumps and how to effectively stand and hold the bat to promote ball striking. The children are working brilliantly putting all the elements of cricket together and show casing some great skills.

  • Year 2 PE

    It’s Athletics for year 2 this term and the children were brilliant today during their running/sprinting session. They listened well to instruction and implemented what was asked of them. They were set games and exercises that allowed them to practice and improve reaction time so to get the best start possible, the use of the body to generate as much speed as possible as well as understanding how they could get faster when running alone or in a team. It certainly was running made fun, as you can see from these pictures. Well done year 2!

  • A GREAT day in Year 4!

    Today in a Year 4, we had a GREAT day. Firstly in English we used the iPads to explore a new location! We looked at the landmarks in America and the UK. Then this afternoon we made model submarines in partners, which were all very successful 😊

    Today in Maths, Year 1 learnt about a new strategy for adding called make 10. We used counters and ten frames to help us partition the number so we could add in 2 steps instead of counting on.

    Since we have returned from the Easter break the KS2 children have been able to enjoy the fine weather we have been having and get out and complete some miles towards their own individual totals with some already reaching landmarks.

  • Year 4 PE

    As we have returned from our Easter breaks and now into the summer term, with this comes summer sports and some nicer weather. The children are being given the opportunity to play some traditional summer sports this term, starting with athletics and cricket. Here are our year 4s being put through their paces with some fielding, catching and throwing drills during PE today. They listened brilliantly to the tips and hints and produced some excellent fielding showing they can stop a rolling ball using correct techniques, catching a ball in the air, thinking about body and hand positions as well as throwing to a target using both underarm and overarm motions. 

  • Exploring our beautiful woods!

    On Friday, the children loved exploring our woods! Some children chose to make dinosaurs using natural materials, others created a cafe in our mud kitchen, role played with items around the woods, or worked together with their friends to explore the sand or to build an obstacle course.
