What a busy day! We cooked and ate bread, made 'chicken nuggets and chips' with play dough,  wrote menus for our cafe, built towers and bridges with Jenga bricks, shared trains and track, drew stripes and spots like we saw on the animals in our story, and made mouse puppets to sing Hickory Dickory Dock! Phew what fun 😊

We’ve had a great afternoon decorating our new SOLE books for the year. We’ve decorated with some pictures we bought in from home and lots of stickers we had too!

This week in our SOLE lessons, we are continuing our science. We will be looking at and naming the different parts of a plant and tree. Today whilst we were down the woods, we used our observation skills to begin looking at the different plants and trees.

Moving into mid way through this half terms PE lessons all year groups are progressing well, developing and improving skills and practices. Today year 5 did exactly this with some fantastic football shooting, the ball striking was clean and accurate, techniques were broken down and refined! Great work year 5!

Year 6 Yew class! 

They've only gone and done it again - a two week streak!

This afternoon we had our second French lesson. We learnt how to ask someone their name and reply. We also looked at our new PSHE question “how do we be a good friend?”. We discussed what a good friend looks like and described a time when a friend was kind to us. What a lovely afternoon! 

We had a lovely morning in Nursery baking fairy cakes. The children were really enthusiastic in helping to weigh out the ingredients, stir the mixture and count out the correct number of paper cases. Of course the best part of the day was eating them! 

Yesterday afteroon, we commenced step one of our Log Flume Challenge! We selected a variety of materials to test for buoyancy and speed; we also looked at how waterproof each material was. This exploration will help us next week when we design and create our first prototypes!
