  • Christmas Jumper Day!

    Just a reminder that this Thursday is our HPS Christmas Jumper Day!

    We will be wearing our Christmas jumpers with normal school uniform and normal shoes so get that festive sweater at the ready.

    If you can, please bring a donation to pop in the buckets on the gates. Thank you!

  • Nursery explore maths and science in play.

    The children were excited to open a parcel today and find new water play equipment inside, and whilst playing they explored mathematical and scientific concepts such as full, empty, floating,and sinking using the jugs, large scoops and containers.  In our creative area we had a variety of different materials and shapes for the children to make their own Christmas card. The children were free to chose their own design and they carefully positioned the shapes so they were pleasing to them. What a great day!

    After a very tight term with so many different weekly winners, it's now time to announce the overall winning class for this term...

    Congratulations to the Year 6 Yew Class! 

    This winning team can now choose their class treat as a reward; the DoodleMaths trophy will also be making its way to their classroom on Monday morning.

    A huge well done to every class for so much brilliant DoodleMaths this term. Keep up the good work!

    In Science, we have been learning about light. We have learnt that light is a form of energy which helps us see the world around us. Today we used torches and noticed that light reflects from some surfaces! 

  • Year 5 - Christmas Cards for the Community

    This week, Year 5 were asked to make Christmas cards for some of the elderly people in the community who have dementia. Anna and her team sent us lots of art and craft resources to help us produce lots of different cards. We felt really good being able to bring a smile to local people's faces.
