  • Year 2 S.O.L.E Learning

    Tue 24 May 2022

A busy afternoon in year 2. We have been making amazing moving sea creatures in DT. We had to design what our sea creature looked like and then using our knowledge of levers and pivots we used split pins to make it. We also watched a video about how to draw a shell and used Austin’s butterfly to make the picture better each time by talking with one another and giving advice on what to do. We have also been finishing off some our learning such as bar graphs on popular things found on a beach, what animals need from their habitat to survive and what skills people need to do some jobs.

  • 🏃🏻‍♂️ Year 6 Quad Kids Athletics 🏃🏻‍♀️

    Mon 23 May 2022

Sprint races were popular at the inter-school athletics meeting today and the children pitched themselves against the clock to run their fastest times over 75m, with many winning their heats! 👍🏻 All children threw the vortex and they powered themselves into the long jump pit with gusto! 😀 But it was the 600m endurance race that really tested our children’s stamina; it was pure  determination and huge team support that saw every runner cross the finish line. 👏🏻 You were all amazing! Well done Year 6 😊🌟👏🏻🤩

  • Welcome to the club Frank!

Fri 20 May 2022 The Reception Team

As EYFS experiences go, not much beats the sense of anticipation and sheer joy when a chick hatches in the classroom! We were lucky that this happened in Reception today! Meet Frank who has been the source of much joy and learning in school recently. We have been keeping an eye on him in his incubator for the last 3 weeks but today he made his grand appearance. Thanks for making us smile Frank. X 🐣🐥❤️

  • 👩🏼‍💻 Year 6 become website designers 👨🏻‍💻

    Thu 19 May 2022

Our Darwin’s Delights SOLE project has begun in earnest with Year 6 using google sites to design and create websites that showcase their research, knowledge and understanding of who Darwin was, why he travelled to the Galápagos Islands and what his ‘theory of evolution’ was.

Collaboration was essential as they discussed and learnt how to edit fonts and create engaging page styles with maps, image carousels and collapsible text questions. Terrific teamwork year 6 😊

  • Nursery explore shape.

    Thu 19 May 2022

The children had a great time making different shapes using lolly sticks today. We started with three sticks and made triangles, and then added more sticks to see what we could make.

I love the variety and creativity shown by the children.

Tue 17 May 2022 The Year 4 Team

We have had the best time at Escot today, surviving wild boar, bear and wolves and Miss McManus’ serving dinner. Toasting marshmallows on the camp fire and sharing a delicious supper have been great fun. Enjoy the photos and we’ll post more tomorrow.
