  • Year 3 - Geography, Digimaps

    In Geography we have been using Digimap to identify countries and physical features where crocodiles may be found. All of us explored Florida in the USA and identified lakes and rivers based on the information seen on the maps. 

     

    We screen captured our results and were able to annotate the features found. 

     

  • Year 4 - Marmalade sandwiches

    In our next unit of English learning, we are going to create clear and concise instructions. Today we completed our elicitation- making marmalade sandwiches! We thought clearly about a catchy introduction, what you will need to list and clear and concise steps. Afterwards, we followed our instructions to create the real thing! We had so much fun and turned into marmalade lovers!

  • Yr 6 Inter-School Netball Tournament

    On Tuesday, the sun shone, the oppositions arrived, the whistles were blown and the first games of the Year 6 Bee Netball inter-school tournament were underway. The children worked incredibly hard and moved the ball through the court well; their confidence began to grow and they are all showing great promise! 

    A fantastic start year 6 - well done! 

     

  • Yr 6 - Mental Health

    On Tuesday afternoon, Year 6 spent some time thinking about mental health. We talked about what it means and broke down some of the stereotypes surrounding it. We also looked at a number of celebrities and athletes who have struggled with their mental health; this made us realise that these struggles can face anyone. 

    Following this, we then thought about how to support a friend who may be struggling with their mental health. Have a look at all of our brilliant advice.

  • Year 4 - RE

    This term, we have been learning about Hinduism - We have looked closely at the religion learning about their beliefs and values. Today, we finished our unit of learning by looking at the festival Diwali. We learnt about the festival and celebrated by making Diwali lamps! 

     

  • Year 2 - Birch Class Practise Ball Skills

    This morning as part of our PE, the children developed another one of their fundamentals skills.  In fact, the activities supported many of the areas!  We worked on our hand / eye coordination linked to our ball skills. 

     

    Out came the hockey sticks and the balls and the children worked on their dribbling and striking skills.

     

  • Year 6 - Clay Model Hearts

    Yesterday, Year 6 worked collaboratively to create clay model hearts. We looked at the clay artist Linda Lopez and used her layering technique to create our anatomical models. We then labelled these using the correct scientific terminology to showcase our knowledge of the heart.

     

  • Year 6 - Making Blood!

    Last week, Year 6 explored the four main components of blood: red blood cells, white blood cells, plasma and platelets. We then made our own samples of blood to show these; ask us to show you which section of the sample represents each component! 

     

  • Year 5 - Pulleys!

    Following on from all of our forces learning, we learnt about pulleys and how they can make our lives easier when lifting heavy objects. Then we got to have a go at making our own out of plastic cups, string and cotton reels! 

     

  • Year 5 - Gears!

    To finish up our Science learning, we looked at gears and how they are used to make things easier. We then got to have a go at using a gear that had been made out of Meccano. We could really easily feel that it was much easier to turn the smaller gear compared to turning the bigger gear!
