Year 1 have really enjoyed starting gymnastics in PE. Look at some of the fantastic shapes and balances that have been doing so far - you can see how much control they are using to hold them still with straight, pointed limbs!

Year 1 had a fantastic time on Friday 17th November helping to fundraise for Children in Need. We learnt about the charity and how they help, created some lovely Pudsey masks and joined in with Mr Watson’s 12 hour workout. Well done to Mr Watson for doing so well and making it so fun for us and well done to all of the children for joining in and for raising money!

On Friday 17th November, Year 6 took part in the HPS Children in Need 12 Hour Workout Challenge. We had such a great time running, jumping, bouncing, marching, dancing and powering through! Well done to every single one of our incredible children and a special shout out to the Year 6 House Captains who also supported the younger year groups too. 

Thank you Mr Watson and Mrs Ayres for your brilliant organisation and enthusiasm throughout the event; you are both superheroes!

In design and technology, we have reached the ‘make’ stage for creating our towers. We used our design sheets to collaborate with others to build the tallest tower. We applied knowledge from our research stage to make a tall tower out of newspaper, tape, lollipop sticks, marshmallows and pasta. It was very tricky but we showed great collaboration and teamwork skills!

Yesterday, Year 5 went down to Year 2 to show them our cam mechanism toys. We asked the Year 2s whether they liked our toys, whether they found them educational and what they would improve and we used this information to write our evaluations of our toys when we got back to the classroom. Thank you, Year 2!

The Nursery children made circle biscuits with Miss Mc in the morning. When they had cooled we used them to make the body of a spider and drew 8 (or more!) legs.   After we had counted the legs we ate the biscuits! Yummy
