  • Year 5 in the Woods

    Mon 20 Feb 2023 E. Long

Before Half Term, Year 5 carried out some orienteering tasks in teams in the woods. Each team had a map of the woods and had to go on a hunt for puzzle pieces using different co-ordinates. In order to get the puzzle piece they had to correctly answer a question about the Tudors. Once they got back and had completed their puzzle, they had finished their task! The fastest team were the winners. Well done, Year 5!

  • Year 5 Science Lesson at HCC

    Fri 10 Feb 2023 E. Long

Year 5 were really lucky to be able to go over to Honiton Community College and participate in the Nappies for NASA challenge in their science labs. They investigated different brands of nappies and decided which nappy would be best for astronauts to use when in space. The children were able to decide how to structure their investigation and what tests to use. Thank you, HCC!

What a fantastic morning of activities at the KS1 cluster coordination festival! Archery, Boccia and the crazy catch games really challenged the children's’ hand-eye coordination and their ability to remain focused on their targets. And, of course, it was all great fun too!

    Well done everyone!

    Fri 03 Feb 2023 E. Long

    Hi All,

I hope you are all keeping well.  I just wanted to make you aware of the Swap Shop that is running tomorrow at Honiton Community College.

It will be open from 11 until 3pm.  We have over 100 large boxes of clothes in good condition.  In fact so many clothes now that we are simply giving them away.  Could you share this information and the attached flyer with your families please?  Citizen's Advice are joining us and will have utility vouchers to give out to those on a prepayment meter/app.  Food Save will also be there with food and information.

Thank you and I hope you have a lovely weekend,

  • KS2 Coordination Festival

    Wed 01 Feb 2023 E. Long

Twelve children represented KS2 brilliantly at the cluster coordination festival. All of the children worked incredibly hard throughout the morning across a range of activities specifically designed to challenge and improve their hand-eye coordination. Archery was one of the favourites, learning how to play Boccia was great fun and the crazy catch and target games were set up to deliberately bring a competitive edge to the event. What a non-stop morning of fun! Well done everyone!
