On Friday afternoon, Year 5 embarked on investigating how the effects of water resistance varied due to the shape of plasticine.  The children made a prediction, chose the 4 shapes they wanted to test and then conducted their experiment.  They found that flatter, broader shapes floated for longer due to there being more surface area for the resistance to push against.  

The children enjoyed investigating and showed a secure understanding of all the different forces in motion.

Over the summer holiday, Doodle ran a number of challenges for our children. This involved lots of dedication and commitment so we were delighted to see so many of our HPS children taking part. Earlier this week, we received a very exciting parcel in the post which contained certificates and badges for all of the winners! Well done to everyone who took part!
